It is the only neurofeedback in the industry that does not put anything into the brain or push it for a specific outcome. When the brain decides how it wants to organize, there are no side effects because it is ready to change. NeurOptimal® offers information to the brain about what it has just done, which the brain can then use to organize itself. During a NeurOptimal® session, a person will wear ear clips and two small sensors on the sides of the head. These pick up the delicate electrical activity of the brain. The person relaxes, closes their eyes, and listens to music. NeurOptimal® processes the brain signals very rapidly, and when it detects them moving into an “instability”, the music pauses briefly. This is the “feedback.” After receiving feedback, the brain can organize itself by releasing patterns that can get in the way of its functioning well.
